I encountered this doll in a thrift store today, for a moment I was mesmerized by her hair, it was so poodle like and scary. A moment after I took this picture I came upon the most wonderful rack of 1960s dresses. I can't wait to put them up in the shop.

In other news I just went out to get something from the car and had to step over the lady of the stairs. Ever since I have lived here this woman will randomly sit on the bottom step of the stairwell inside the building. To paint a picture she is heavy set and always reeks of alcohol, she also speaks no english or pretends not to. She usually has a beer and she sits in complete silence, occasionally I will see her chatting with a man from the first floor. She doesn't have a key to the building because I have seen her waiting outside for someone to follow in. She has a really unpleasant disposition, she will not move and if you have to go up or come down the stairs you have to step over her, it's really awkward. I usually get mad and we give each other looks. Tonight she waved at jason and he was totally freaked out.

Last night I ventured out to a show, I was so excited to see Thrones play in the city, I was looking forward to it all week. I checked online and it said it would take a half hour so I left with just enough time to get there. Alas, I stood out on the subway platform for an eternity waiting for the train, I stood out there for so long a fine layer of dust could have accumulated upon me had it not been so windy. I got to the show 20 minutes late and the door was shut with a SOLD OUT sign posted to the front. I threw my hands up in dismay and then brought them down again to text josh who I knew was inside. The text had a lot of exclamation points at the end. I could hear the music from outside which made it even more upsetting. I turned around to head home but not before stopping at the bowery whole foods for apple cider and caramel. It eased my anguish.

I know that coat season is over but these were too great to pass up. I love the corduroy one, it is a wide wale velvety soft corduroy. I will be posting these in the next hour.

new items in the shop tonight!

I came to connecticut to do some thrifting and now I am trapped inside! Neverending snow! Last week I could not thrift and this week the weather is making it difficult as well. I did get to some places yesterday and I got a lot for the shop, the only thing I found for keeps is this needlepoint. I like that it is in a red frame. Anyways I am STIR CRAZY. In all capital letters. The only thing to eat here is carrots. and cereal. it's not fun. Tomorrow before I go back to the city I am going to take Jason to a dog playgroup, it's called the Yappy Happy Hour. I need him to make friends. He has started barking aggressively at every dog we see on the street so I need him to socialize. I hope it goes well.

I haven't always like joanna newsom but I think this song is really pretty. My friend Valerie is her biggest fan ever.

I went to the tea store yesterday and got chrysanthemum tea, im making it right now. I also got linden flower tea and megami sencha, a grassy green tea. so exciting.

I found a vintage sewing box! I am excited about it, it's one of those things I'm always on the lookout for. And I am a sucker for anything patchwork really. There are cats on it even. Jason is hanging out too, he needs some brushing though. It's his least favorite thing to do.

This is the view from my kitchen table/ desk, it totally cracks me up when his head pops up on the other side. He is always looking for something he can chew, eat or run around the room with.

So I've got a little over a week to find someone to give this to, the pressure is on. ha! Another thing, everytime I go to the antique store I admire these shoes, they are not my size but boy are they pretty. They don't make shoes like they used to.
