New in the shop today, this totally adorable blouse with a pattern of running horses. Size medium. Also I listed some great boots, lots more to come:

Yesterday I was dismayed to receive a letter in the mail informing me that since I got 2 speeding tickets within an 18 month period I owe an additional $300, apparently that is a rule in NY state. I was flabbergasted. That brings the total of my 2 tickets to nearly $700, all for going 84 mph on the highway like a normal person. Im going to see if I can contest it, I have to at least try. I was so sad and frustrated about it, I called my friend Katie hoping that she could cheer me up as I walked around a thrift store. She was telling me that I need to have a more positive attitude about life and that good things will happen if I do. I decided to be positive and look on the bright side of things, I promised her I would as I got off the phone. I felt a bit lighter as I walked out the door and back to my rental car until I realized that someone had crashed into it in the parking lot while I was in the store and drove away! So much for positive thinking, right? I was so freaked out, the side mirror was hanging by a thread of a wire and the whole way home I was hesitant to change lanes. Luckily I had purchased insurance so it was covered. Oy vey! It never ends. 

I am still working for the Maria Callas show at the Italian Cultural Institute. I haven't been drinking espresso everyday like I imagined though, apparently people think I talk too much when caffeinated. Today they pulled out this huge poster and every time I walked by I wanted to squeeze this little poodle. I'm thinking of giving Jason a moustache next time I cut his hair, it might be cute. He will walk around with crumbs stuck in it and I'll tease him, yeah, it will be cute. 

Things that make my heart beat fast, Rodarte for Opening Ceremony sunglasses and bathing suit, Swedish Hasbeens new spring shoes, Pamela Love pentagram bracelet and Claire Vivier purse.

New in the shop, a rose pink mini sweater dress, a London Fog Youth Crest coat and an 80s short wool jacket.

Today after attending little Louis' birthday party at the Black Rabbit I went to Vegetarian Dim Sum House in Chinatown to meet up with Josh and Joya. I was unaware that it was Chinese New Years so when I got near the restaurant I was surprised to see the streets so packed and chaotic. There were parades of those big furry dragons that open and close their mouths and confetti was strewn everywhere. Little kids were snapping cherry bombs and tourists were blocking the walkways filming everything with their camera phones. Afterwards we went to an asian vegan grocery store, everything was futuristic and brightly packaged, I was delighted by so much cuteness. I noticed this "Golden Pumpkin Fluff" sitting on a display table, have you ever heard of such a thing? There was a drawing next to it to tell you what it was for, it suggested that you put it on sandwiches or sushi. 

New to the shop, an amazing midnight blue party dress, a red and charcoal grey checkered skirt and a 1960s leopard print coat.

Years ago I dressed up as Alice Cooper for Halloween, I looked exactly like him. Years before that I was hanging out with my friend Audrey when out of the blue she said "I think Neil Young is my real dad!" I remember thinking Alice must be mine.

I got a new vintage coat! It's orange plaid wool made by B Altman & Co, it is a brand I really love to find thrifting. I was blinded by the sun shining off the snow so in all the photos I am making a weird squinting face, that one at the top was the least of all of them yet it is still pretty weird. There is so much snow everywhere, in the photo I am actually standing on top of several feet of it without sinking through, it was so frozen on the surface it held me up.

New in the shop today, a cropped floral Benetton t-shirt, size XS.

We did some redesigning of the blog yesterday, Jeremiah kindly helped me make a new banner and redo the template, I am much happier with it now. We had thai food and got afternoon coffees, it was great. I missed making lip gloss prints on coffee cups, it's easy to tell which one is mine. Im off to thrift shop via train today, it's super cold outside though so Im a little wary of leaving the house.

I finally decided to sell the hot pink cape coat, it was a hard decision. I got an email from someone about it, they told me that since it was made by the label Lilly Ann it's very collectible and they wished me luck. I had no idea, after doing an image search I was totally blown away. These are just a few of what I came across:

In thrift shopping news I went yesterday and had the BEST day, I am going to be listing so many new things in the next few days. I brought Jason with me and it was tough because some of the stores say "No Pets" so I tried to hide him in my coat. His little face stuck out and even though I tried to be as discreet as possible every aisle I would go down someone would say "Oh! What a cute little dog!" I wanted to say shhhhh! but instead would I just smile. He was great except for one store, we got to the end of an aisle and there were some rocking horses, he thought they were real and went ballistic. I had to really calm him down. I kept expecting to be told to leave but no one seemed to care anywhere that I went. I dropped him off for rest of the afternoon at my parents house, I didn't want him to be bored the whole day. I think he may be good luck, I found some of my favorite things of all time. I dropped some things off at the dry cleaners this morning but when I get them back there will be pictures for sure.
