New in the shop today!

New in the shop today, some cotton dresses and skirts. I also could not resist this, I would be so psyched if my name was Karen! My name is spelled somewhat weirdly, whenever I searched for my name on something as a kid I could never find it. Catherine or Katherine was everywhere, never Kathryn. 

new in the shop today, a 1970s brown suede jacket, a mini olive green Dooney & Bourke bag and a 1960s cotton floral juniors dress with ruffle trim.

I just listed this amazing vintage red leather motorcycle jacket. It is so well made, zippered slash pockets, a quilted lining and even a secret pocket inside. It has it all. Anyways recently I started playing tetris on my cell phone on the way to work everyday, I have gotten really obsessed with it. It isn't just normal tetris, different levels have ledges and split screens and magnets screwing up your gameboard as you play, the graphics in the background are of tornados and volcanos, they really tried to make it intense. Yesterday I got to a level that I could not beat, I was convinced it was unbeatable. If anyone was looking over my shoulder on the subway they must have thought I was crazy, I just kept hitting the retry button over and over and almost missed my stop. I kept talking about it at work while everyone gave me the side eye. Then I beat it on the way home today, it was a small triumph I suppose. I had forgotten how much I like video games. Although I should probably be reading a book instead. 

New in the shop, several cotton 1960s era mini dresses, lots of new shoes and an incredible 1970s era leather trench coat. It is seriously killer, I was so excited when I found it. I have been so busy lately I haven't had enough time to list new things in the shop, it feels good to get some of it up. I have been working a lot at my freelance job, next week will be the same. On Saturday I took a cooking class, it was amazing. It was Thai cooking, we learned how to make Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, Mango Salad and Pad Kee Mao. This evening I tried to make the pad thai, it was pretty good but next time I make it it will be better. I wasn't too keen on the 1/4 cup of sugar, I like sweet things for sure but I don't like the idea of pouring that much into something I am going to have for dinner. I tried using agave instead, I think it worked out ok, next time I will use a little less, I don't like it too sweet. I also didn't use chicken or chicken broth, just tofu. After we learned how to make everything at the restaurant we sat down and they served us all the dishes together, it was so much food, I don't recall being that full at any time in recent memory. We drank wine at 2 in the afternoon, it was very decadent. Here is the recipe, the numbers scrawled on the side are the order in which the ingredients were added. The first 4 are first and that is 1 tbs of paprika, not 2. 

I know that plaid is more of a fall thing but I keep finding it every time I go out, I just love it too. I don't really have the space to store things for another season so I list everything as I find it, I know the shop would look a lot neater if it was more organized by season. We like plaid around here, what can I say.
