I am so excited to show you all my new vintage coat, its from the 1970s and it is rabbit fur dyed all crazy colors, it is so amazing. It was my best find of last week. I guess I have been having some good luck along with the bad, I was hoping my streak of bad luck was over but today was not so great. It all started when I decided to make a smoothie this afternoon before going to the post office. I have a great recipe, sweet potato, almond milk, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla, it's pretty amazing. I had it blending in my food processor as I washed my hands, I still had my left hand under the stream of water as I hit the "off" button with my right hand. It was not smart, I was electrocuted in a way I have never been before, the electric current went up my left arm, across my chest and down my right arm to the running water, I almost fell over. My arms hurt badly as I pulled away, it was like all the muscles in my arms were suddenly sore and my heart was beating so fast. At first I panicked wondering what to do, I thought I might keel over from a heart attack! Then I looked it up online and decided I would be allright. My heart was still beating fast as I gathered up my packages to head out to the post office.

So! The supervisor at my post office is this awful woman, on Saturday I was there and I asked her if I could buy a box for an unusually shaped item, she started to hand me a box but then held it out and said "If you touch this box you pay for it!" I asked how can I know if it will fit what I wanted to mail without holding it up to the item, she said "I don't care, if I give this to you you pay for it." I was confused by her tone of voice and just said no thanks, I'll get a box somewhere else and mail this another day. So today I am in line to mail my etsy packages, there are two lines, one with two windows open for mailing packages, the other line with one window open for stamps and money orders. At one of the package windows there is this lady I always avoid, she measures packages wrong by wrapping the tape measure all the way around to measure them, she says that everything international has to go priority mail when I know for sure they can go first class. I always use the same size packaging and have no trouble mailing things first class with any of the other people who work there. On a regular basis if I am next in line and her window becomes available I always let people go ahead of me so I can go to someone else. I did that today but the supervisor was out on the floor, she told me that I could not step aside and that I had to go to the next available window. I didn't see what difference it would make, it's my own time that I am sacrificing and the other window looked like it was about to be available any moment. So right then it was, the bell rang and I took a step forward, she put her hand up and shouted "Next in line for money orders go to this window!" just so that I could not. It was so spiteful and mean. She turned to me and shouted "You go to the first window and no other or go home!" I asked her seriously why she was talking to me so rudely, it was unnecessary. She just kept raising her voice louder and louder and wouldn't stop, she kept shouting that I can't decide which window I want to go to. It was crazy. It escalated to such insanity, you would not believe it, it didn't even make any sense. I think I must seem like a pretty easy target for bitches, I am small and I have a small voice but I won't take it, as she yelled at me I yelled right back at her even louder, it was a total scene. When I walked away I was shaking. A few minutes later she left and another lady who works there came out from the back, Wanda, she is the nicest person ever. I went up to her to ask her what was wrong with the supervisor, I asked if she is like that to everyone or was it just me? Wanda quietly told me that she is awful to everyone, she suggested that I file a complaint. She gave me a hug. I started crying, like really crying. It was crazy! I realize that getting into fights with people at the post office is pretty minor in the whole scheme of things, it just felt so intense in the moment, I have been trying to shake off the bad feelings ever since.

  1. Oh my gosh! What an awful day! I'm so glad that you're okay after that scary electrocution incident though. I always worry that something like that will happen when I'm home alone.

And secondly, please do file a report against that supervisor - the thing with the box and the situation with yelling at you and treating you disrespectfully...it's ridiculous. There are too many people who would love to have her job without her taking up space and bullying people. She can not make you pay for a box if you touch it. She's an embarrassment to the postal service. Nobody deserves to be yelled at. I've seen people be complete jerks to the postal clerks at my post office, and even THEY don't get yelled at. Take her down, girl! You never know...she might already have complaints lodged against her and only needs one more to get her fired.

  2. I did file the complaint, right when I got home! Wanda gave me her full name so that I could.

  6. The jacket, the story, wow. Equally intense. The post offices in this city are like nothing I have experienced before. I don't know what the deal is with them...
